Neymar:” I don’t want to prove anything, Messi’s the best”

Right after arriving to Japan to participate in the FIFA club World Cup with his club Santos, Brazilian wonderkid Neymar denied the existence of any kind of competition between his and Barcelona’s Argentine star Lionel Messi. These comments come in the aftermath of Pele’s comment about Neymar’s superiority over Messi.

In an interview with reporters, Neymar said: ” I’m not here to prove anything, I always said that Messi is the best player in the world”.

When asked about the comparison between him and Pele, the 19 year old said: ” He’s a legend, I will never be like him”.

Messi also commented on a possible Messi versus Neymar face-off in the final, and considered that stopping the Argentine is very hard.

Neymar is highly linked with a move to the La Liga as both Real Madrid and Barcelona are fighting over his signature.
